Deerskin Driving Gloves
The gloves we are best known for, and the ones we would hand to someone buying their first serious pair.
A driving glove earns its place through feel — thin enough to read the wheel, grippy enough to hold it, cut close so nothing bunches when you turn. Deerskin does all three, and then keeps doing them for years, which is where cheaper leathers give up.
Ours comes from Finland. The cold climate produces a denser, finer-grained hide that is soft from the first wear and stretches slightly to the shape of your hand without losing form. It breathes, which matters on a long drive, and it resists scuffing where your hand meets the wheel.
Which cut?
- Full-finger, unlined — the classic. Most feel, most of the year.
- Crochet back — a cotton back for ventilation. The traditional choice for convertibles and classic cars, and the one to have in summer.
- Fingerless — bare fingertips for maximum sensitivity, and easy on the phone at a junction.
- Contrast stitching and piping — red on black, yellow on navy, orange on brown. Choose any combination if you order bespoke.
Every pair is hand-cut and finished in our workshop in Târgu Mureș, Transylvania. Sizes run 7.5 to 10 for men and 6.5 to 8.5 for women — and driving gloves should fit close, so take the smaller size if you fall between two. See the sizing chart.
