The gloves we are best known for, and the ones we would hand to someone buying their first serious pair.

Finnish deerskin, cut close for feel at the wheel — full-finger, crochet-backed or fingerless, with contrast stitching if you want it. Cut and sewn by hand in Târgu Mureș, Transylvania, in any size and colour to order.

About the stitching

Most of what people notice on a driving glove is the stitching and the piping — red on black, yellow on navy, orange on brown. It is a small amount of thread doing a lot of work, and it is the reason two gloves in the same leather can look completely different.

Contrast stitching is also the easiest thing to get exactly as you want it. The leather colours are what we have in stock; the thread can be almost anything, which is why most bespoke orders we take are really stitching orders.

Which cut?

  • Full-finger, unlined — the classic. Most feel, most of the year.
  • Crochet back — a cotton back for ventilation. The traditional choice for convertibles and classic cars, and the one to have in summer.
  • Fingerless — bare fingertips for maximum sensitivity, and the cut that works with a car's touchscreen.

Questions we get asked

Can I choose my own colour combination?

Yes. Tell us the leather colour and the stitching colour and we will make the pair — it adds up to five days. Most people go one shade louder than they expect to, and then wish they had gone further.

Will the stitching wear out before the leather?

On a hand-sewn pair, no — the seams are the strongest part. On machine-sewn gloves the palm seam is the first thing to go after years of gripping a wheel, and it can be repaired.

How long should a pair last?

Worn most days, several years — and deerskin usually outlives the fashion for whatever colour you bought. The palm is the part that wears, which is why we cut it from the best of the hide.

Which size for driving?

Close, and the smaller of two if you fall between. Men 7.5 to 10, women 6.5 to 8.5 — see the sizing chart.
