Why cut the fingers off a perfectly good glove?

Because the fingertips are where you need feel and everywhere else is where you need protection. Drivers worked this out long before anyone else: the palm takes the wear and the grip, the back of the hand stays covered, and the fingers stay free for everything fiddly.

Since then they have been adopted by cyclists, photographers, market traders, anyone working outdoors in mild cold, and a fair number of people who just prefer how they look.

Made in deerskin, lambskin and peccary, some with padded palms, all cut and sewn by hand in Târgu Mureș, Transylvania. Any size and colour to order.

Questions we get asked

Are they actually warm?

For spring and autumn, yes — the back of the hand and the palm are where most of the heat goes. In real winter your fingertips will get cold, and that is the trade. If you want warmth, look at winter gloves instead.

Do they work with a touchscreen?

Yes, which is a large part of why people buy them now. Bare fingertips register on a car's infotainment screen and on a phone; leather does not.

Leather back or crochet back?

Leather all over is the smarter-looking pair and a little warmer. A cotton crochet back breathes, so it is the one for summer and for anyone whose hands run hot.

How should they fit?

Close, like a driving glove, with the finger openings sitting just below your first knuckle. Take the smaller size if you are between two — the sizing chart has the measurements.
