What hand-sewing actually changes

A machine sews a seam by pushing thread through in a chain — quick, even, and if one stitch fails the line can run. Hand-sewing sets each stitch separately, which takes up to eight hours for a pair and means a broken stitch stays a broken stitch.

On the hand, the difference is the seam itself: flatter, thinner, and softer against the finger. On a driving glove, where your hand closes around a rim for hours, that is the part you feel.

Sizes 7.5 to 10 for men, 6.5 to 8.5 for women, on the sizing chart. All cut and sewn by hand in Târgu Mureș, Transylvania.

Questions we get asked

Is a hand-sewn pair worth the difference?

If you drive a lot, yes — it is the most noticeable upgrade there is on a glove, more than the leather grade. If the gloves are occasional wear, the machine-sewn pairs are excellent and the money is better spent on the leather.

Can I have contrast stitching on peccary?

Yes, and it looks striking against the pitted grain. Red and orange on black are the two we make most often; anything else to order.

Which months for an unlined pair?

Roughly March to November in central Europe. Peccary stays supple in cold that stiffens other leathers, so an unlined pair stretches further into the year than you would expect. For real winter, peccary winter gloves.

How do I know it is real peccary?

The follicles grow in threes, and on a genuine hide the pattern is irregular — spacing and depth vary, and it follows the contours of the animal. Printed imitations look too even.
