  • Women's Riding Gloves – Nappa Leather Palm with Crochet Top

Grip on the reins, air on the back of the hand

A riding glove has to do two things at once. It needs a palm that holds a rein without slipping when your hands are damp, and it needs to not cook your hands over a long ride. So the palm is nappa leather and the top is crochet — the same idea as a driving glove, for the same reason.

They also have to be thin. Anything padded dulls what comes back through the reins, and that feedback is most of what you are working with.

Cut and finished by hand in our workshop in Târgu Mureș, Transylvania, a town that has made gloves since 1925.

Questions we get asked

How should a riding glove fit?

Close, with no loose leather in the palm — slack is what causes rubbing and blisters. If you are between sizes, take the smaller one and let it give over the first week. Ours run 6.5 to 9.5, men's and women's; see the sizing chart.

Can I use them for driving too?

Yes, and plenty of people do — it is essentially the same construction as our crochet-backed driving gloves. The reverse is also true if you already own a pair of those.

What if they get wet?

Dry them flat at room temperature, away from any heat source. Damp leather is fine; hot leather is not.

Can I have a different colour?

Yes — any colour we can source, in your own measurements if a standard size is not right. Bespoke pairs take up to five days.
