How many pairs does one man need?

Most of our customers start with one pair and end up with two. The first is usually an unlined driving glove, because that is the one you reach for nine months of the year. The second is a lined winter pair, bought the following November when it turns out the first pair is not enough in real cold.

If you only ever buy one, buy the unlined deerskin. It covers spring, autumn and mild winter days, it works with a coat or without one, and it is the pair that will still be in the car in ten years.

Everything here is cut and sewn by hand in our workshop in Târgu Mureș, Transylvania, a town that has made gloves since 1925.

Questions we get asked

Lined or unlined?

Unlined for feel and for most of the year. Lined when it is properly cold — cashmere if you still want to drive in them, rabbit fur if you want the warmest thing we make. Men's winter gloves are all lined or fur-lined; men's driving gloves are mostly not.

Do leather gloves stretch?

A little, in the first week, and then they stop. That is why a new pair should feel snug rather than comfortable — the leather gives across the knuckles and the base of the thumb and settles into your hand. A glove that feels perfect in the shop will feel loose in a month.

What size am I?

Measure around your knuckles with your hand half-bent, thumb excluded, in centimetres. That number is roughly your glove size. Men usually land between 7.5 and 10, and our lined and unlined gloves are cut to the same size, so the same number works for both. The sizing chart has the full table.

Can I get a colour that isn't here?

Yes, and most weeks somebody does. Any colour we can source, any combination of leather and stitching, in your own measurements. It takes up to five days to make, plus shipping — how bespoke works.
