Black peccary, lined in cashmere — the warm version of our plainest and most useful winter glove.
Why cashmere: it adds warmth without adding thickness. Fur is warmer, but it puts distance between your hand and whatever you are holding. Cashmere keeps the glove slim enough to drive in, unlock a door in, and carry things in. For most winters in most of Europe it is the right balance.
Black is the version that goes with everything, which is why it outsells the browns. Under a dark overcoat it is close to invisible, and the plain back means nothing dates.
The peccary is the reason to buy it. Ours comes from Peru — a wild hide from the family Tayassuidae, not pig or boar. Soft from the first wear with no breaking-in, and it stays supple as the temperature drops when most fine leathers stiffen. Hair follicles growing in groups of three leave the pitted grain that identifies it.
Hand-cut and hand-sewn in our workshop in Târgu Mureș, Transylvania, where our family has made gloves since 1925.
Sizing: take the larger size if you fall between two — the lining takes up room. Measure around your knuckles, excluding the thumb, and check the sizing chart.
Prefer it unlined? The same glove is available unlined — slimmer, more feel, better for milder weather.
